As with most resorts (and especially those with such high traffic!), regular refurbishing and maintenance of the interior is a must. In some cases, the designs are outdated or worn; sometimes the furniture has met its “life expectancy,” or perhaps the resort simply needs a little sprucing up. In this case, the management at Floridays was replacing all the furniture in its 6 separate buildings, with the small exceptions of mattresses and sofas. In total, there were 144 rooms to be refurbished—in only 7 days!
The major challenge of this project (aside from the time restraint) was making sure that all trucks and deliveries to the resort on time. We needed to remove all the old furniture and install the new furniture, plus hang all the mirrors and pictures in a timely manner.
Chris “Chappy” Chapman, our Sr. Field Supervisor, was in charge of the project and worked on the schedules to the vendors. Sometimes it is challenging when you are depending on another carrier to be there on time, but he made sure to have back up plans in place if trucks ran behind schedule.
The project at Floridays was one of countless successful projects that Chappy, and Our Orlando Commercial Movers, has been involved with. During his 28 years with CMS-Orlando, he has overseen more than 35,000 room installs, and this 7-day project was no sweat.
Though this was a very fast-paced project, the crew at CMS-Orlando, with the help of Wheaton World Wide Moving, was able to get the job done, quickly and efficiently—and on-schedule! Take a look at some of the photos from the project below.
